Who We Are

In Africa, we are tackling what we believe are the biggest systemic problems that the humanitarian sector faces – problems including slow and reactive funding, centralized decision making and an aversion to change which means that people affected by crises around Africa do not receive the best help fast enough and needless suffering results. We are re-imagining philanthropy to catalyze organizations driving social justice and building movements across the African continent.

Our Mission

To improve lives in the continent of Africa and unleash human potential through investing in charity organizations, churches and companies undertaking projects in our focus areas.

Our Vision

To promote the wellbeing of humanity throughout Africa by making opportunity universal and sustainable

Our aim is to transform humanitarian action in Africa through fast funding, early action and localization. We are aiming to catalyze change in three ways;

  1. Shifting humanitarian financing from a reactive to a proactive model.
  2. Creating a more balanced system that shifts power and decision making to those closest to the frontline.
  3. Partnering with trusted organizations in Africa to immediately establish the legitimacy and credibility of the charity organizations and companies before funding is done.

Our values

  1. Maximizing community wellbeing – we fund organizations whose activities improve lives the most with every dollar.
  2. Truth seeking – we partner with key organizations in Africa that help us establish the legitimacy of the organizations before we fund them. Through this, we use evidence to make decisions.
  3. Transparency – we share extensively with all our partners and the general public about our work, approach and views, the sources that inform us and what would change our minds. We want to enable others to evaluate our conclusions.
  4. Emphasizing considerateness – we make an intentional effort to do our work in a way that is respectful of people inside and outside our organization. We consider the needs, interests and perspectives of others.
